Capcom Service Bulletin: Breakshot Slam Tilt Mod
GAME: BREAKSHOT PINBALL GAME
PROBLEM: INTERMITTENT ‘SLAM TILT’ ON POWER UP
REASON: RANDOM TRANSIENT NOISE TO THE POWER DRIVER PCB
SOLUTION:
(NOTE: INCLUDED WITH THIS LETTER YOU WILL FIND 1 FERRITE RING FOR EACH GAME YOU HAVE PURCHASED.)
- TURN PINBALL GAME OFF.
- OPEN THE BACKBOX AND LOWER THE DISPLAY PANEL.
- DISCONNECT J23 AND J24 FROM THE POWER DRIVER PCB.
- LOOP THE J24 CABLE SO YOU HAVE THREE TURNS AROUND THE FERRITE RING (SEE FIGURE 1). YOU WILL NEED TO PASS THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE RING FOUR TIMES. CABLE TIES WILL NEED TO BE CUT IN ORDER TO GIVE ENOUGH SLACK TO THE CABLE TO DO THIS.
- LOOP THE J23 CABLE SO YOU HAVE THREE TURNS AROUND THE FERRITE RING (SEE FIGURE 2).
- RE-CONNECT J23 AND J24 TO THE POWER DRIVER BOARD. ENSURE ALL CABLES ARE DRESSED PROPERLY, AND THERE IS ENOUGH SLACK TO LOWER THE BACKBOX.
- CLOSE THE BACKBOX AND DISPLAY PANEL.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS OR ANY OTHER ISSUE, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT THE FIELD SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
